Set User Rights
Note:
User rights are set for basic Users. Administrative users have full access to all projects.
Once a project has been added to the list of projects a user may access, the row cannot be deleted. When a user no longer needs access to a project, uncheck the User Rights option. The User Rights options can be updated at any time.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The Users tab window displays. The current list of users displays in the top pane.
- Select the User row you want in the top pane.
- Select the User Rights tab in the bottom pane.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu. This enables the dropdown on the right side of the bottom pane.
- Select the project you want to assign to the user from the list.
- Set the User Rights options.
- The box is automatically checked.
- Check the and boxes as applicable. Typically if a user has write access, they also have read access.
- Checking the box means the user can lock the data they are working on in the main EVMax window. Other users can view the data while it is locked, they just can't access the data to make any changes.
- Checking the box means the user can view the complete set of result values - FTE, hours, direct costs, and indirect costs. Leave it unchecked when you want to limit the user to base result values only such as FTE or hours for labor resources, or direct costs for non labor resources.
- Check the and boxes as applicable.
- Optional. Check the box. This is dependent on the user's role, assigned responsibility, and level of authority when the project is using the workflow process. When checked, the user has the authority to start the workflow review and approval sequence for a specific work breakdown structure (WBS) element identified as a control account.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu.
- Optional. Close the Users tab.
